Long drives expose every system to hours of continuous use. This checklist takes 30 minutes and saves you from roadside headaches.

## The Essential Checks

**Tires:** Pressure (use door-jamb specs, not sidewall limits), tread depth (at least 4/32"), and no visible damage. Rotate if due.

**Fluids:** Engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer-all topped off.

**Brakes:** Listen for squeaks; check brake fluid level. Worn pads mean poor performance.

**Battery:** Corroded terminals? Weak charge? Have it tested.

**Lights & Wipers:** All exterior lights work; wipers are in good condition and fresh washer fluid is loaded.

**Belts & Hoses:** Cracks, fraying, or leaks signal replacement time.

**Air & Cabin Filters:** Clean filters mean better performance and air quality.
